MY CHILDHOOD
13 Years, 8 Explored Places!
I often used to think what it means to Explore Places? Generally, exploring places means we go on an adventure with family, friends or official trips, etc. But that is not the case for me.. My style of exploring places has always been different since my childhood. Its different compared to my cousins and i find it very unique because i have a different & interesting memory to keep with!
I'll tell you how i explored so many places in these years because all of them are still picturesque memories filled with loads of joy!
My first memory starts from Kindergarten where i studied in my Native Place, Vijayawada. All of us know that our lives were very peaceful at that time ever since we started going to school which was something out of our comfort zone. Nothing much memories I've had in kindergarten. But if i have to share it here i think it will be the school picnic with my favorite teacher and lovely friends. I enjoyed a lot in that picnic and came home very exhausted.
Taking my story from Kindergarten to First & Second class where i studied 1st class in Nellore & 2nd class in Hyderabad. Now comes, the major twist and highlight in my exploration of places when my father got transferred to Mumbai. Mumbai is famous for Pav bhaji, Sea Link, Marine Drive, etc. When i first got admission in a School, the very first question Principal had asked me after seeing my grade report is that "How do you South Indian People score 90-95%?". That moment i felt like crazy... C'mon who doesn't score 90-95% at that age? because you got nothing much on your plate that you have to learn something stressful... All we learn at that age would be basic English grammar, basic mathematics, etc. And then i passed the admission test and got seat in the school. Oh, by the way... that's when the process of taking admission in any institute has actually started in my life... That is almost equivalent to a Villain in my life! :)
My first day at school was great enough that i ended up meeting two people who were a total nutcase. I met those nutcases in 5th or 6th because till that time i was studying in that school. A very awesome memory about my 3rd standard would be...
That day i had to stay back at school because of art & craft work. Like for kids of that age i would honestly say that nothing can be more pressurizing than actually doing the art & craft work. Its both Cool and insane. Cool because you get to time pass somehow with your friends and insane because if u don't complete work within time, you too gotta stay back in school like me. So, yeah, my mother strictly told me to stay in school, but that thought completely striked out of my mind. The irony thing about my art & craft teacher was she was very strict. She wouldn't accept students coming late to the class not even by a minute. That moment i was 10 mins late and ofc having a strict teacher is no joke boss, so i didn't have any guts to enter the class. So all i had in my mind was i have to get out of that place somehow. So i came out of the school gate, took an auto and reached home. Here, comes the highlight point.. that is, firstly, I was new to the city. Second, i wasn't aware of speaking Hindi. Third, i didn't have money with me. Keeping all this mind I'm sure no one would ever take an auto on their own & reach home. But that is a golden memory for me because i did something adventurous at such a young age but at the same time my parents were disappointed with me.. Couldn't agree more!
My next part of the story is when I came to Belgaum in 8th grade completed till 10th. One such similar incident that happened there also was that by seeing my grade report, the admin said a statement that makes me laugh till date. She said, " In our school, our students won't get such low grades. We have toppers in our school." As soon as i joined the school, on my very first day i met across a girl who used to be my bench mate, partner in crime, everything. We both used to have the utmost fun. Such a picturesque memory with her was with our Hindi Sir who taught us the subject.
So one day in his class, we were told to make advertisements in Hindi regarding Ghadi. Now in Hindi Ghadi as we all know its Watch!. Now what my bench mate did was, she made the advertisement but her caption in the advertisement was, " Pehle Isthamaal Kare, Phir Vishwas Kare, Ghadi"!
She thought that the advertisement should be made on Surf packet. Then i also told her that she should make an advertisement on Watch just like our sir instructed us to do. She didn't listen to me. i said Ok.
But when sir checked it. His reaction was like, "Isse kuch samjaho"!
I had the best time with her.
In 9th Standard, we were separated. We were in different sections, but yes, i did make friends with whom i had loads of fun at that time. Another memory would be when we went to Dharwad Adventure Base Camp. It was an awesome memory that i can never forget. It was maybe the amount of time we spent together was mostly filled with joy and laughter. As days passed by, i completed my 10th there.
Again, coming back, i studied my 11th & 12th in Bangalore in another school. There also the cycle of admission test repeated just like when History Repeats itself! There is an unbelievable fact that people will actually start laughing by hearing it. I took Commerce. Can you guess a number as to how many can be the strength of the students? Take a minute to think before reading the next part of the story:)
The strength was Only 4!. Why will anyone believe it? Ofc, not.. But it is true guys.. It seemed like we were the 4 pillars of the school or I can say 4 Jewels of the School where i felt that our importance was actually highlighted! :))
Now comes, my Under graduation where i spent studying my 3 years in Hyderabad. I studied in college. When I studied, i think i had no admission test here but was directly called for counselling. The highlight part here was that generally in CBSE Board you will have your 11th marks & 12th marks calculated separately. As i was not used to State Board method of learning, i found it to be weird because he merged both standards' marks and gave a cumulative report. Dude, if that's the case why did I even write 2 board exams in my 12th grade? I still wonder why? Had i known that he is gonna give me cumulative marks and take me in for admission to this college, i don't think i would have studied so hard for it.! And, three years just passed by, made few friends who are still in touch but yes had great fun with them. Few of them are settled in jobs, few of them are pursuing higher studies like me and few of them are married!
The 8th Place is again Mumbai for pursuing my higher studies and its still going on...
So, this is all about my childhood and the memories about 13 Years, 8 Explored places!
Thank you
Comprehensively cohesive!!!!
